As part of the work experience with Blinkink/Blink Industries I created several logo treatments for them, and I also created a one Pager Pitch for a animated children’s pre-school show.
Logo Treatments
The brief was to create logo treatments based on the Blinkink logo and take any approach when designing.
I did look at their current branding across the company, this included Blink Industries, Blink Games and Blink. Lots of blinks. I designed eleven treatments, I decided to only design wordmarks as all current branding used wordmarks.
One Pager Pitch
The brief was to create a one pager pitch for a pre-school show.
Examples for the type of show they were looking for was shows like Sarah and Duck and Bluey, so to start I watched some of the shows for reference.
One pager pitch is the preferred way for pitching at Blinkink, they show some of the internal pitch documents as reference.
I settled for an educational show and started designing the characters, I drew some inspiration for the style from Bluey and made a student and teacher character.
Following that I designed a quick logo and then started working on the written pitch. I found five keys points in the pitch documents I read, a summery, a hook, a cast, a tone and a format.
Prior to the work experience I created a 5 second animation with their mascots they use in their logo as part of a application for a different role in 2024 and 2022.
2024
I decided to try animate all four mascots of Blinkink dancing together. This animation was done digitally from beginning to end using Photoshop and After Effects. Each frame is hand drawn and coloured using Photoshop.
These designs were created by Sam Dunn, they're incredibly detailed and needed simplifying so that I could animate them more efficiently.
I opted to not detail things like fur, simplified facial features, and gave three out of the four mascots the same body types.
2022
I drew the mascot on paper first in my style, I then took the sketch into Photoshop where I inked, coloured and broke down character into pieces I could animated, next I animated the character in After Effects using motion tweens and masks, and finally I had a friend record the squeak SFX and I sourced the rest of the SFXs from Freesounds.org, and mixed them together in Audition.
